Chain Stitch Onesie

Onesies are ubiquitous for babies and there are many ways to embellish them, but one of the most fun and unique was a tutorial from a blog called Handmade Baby Clothes that showed how to do chain stitch embroidery with your sewing machine.
The first one was an ode to the unofficial anthem of our state, Sweet Home Alabama. I stitched an outline of the state with the words “Sweet Home” in the middle. A few ruffles were added to the back for an extra flourish.

The second one was for the national championship game that was just a couple weeks after you were born. Of course, we were cheering for the Crimson Tide, but instead of Roll Tide, we used your nickname and cheered “Roo Tide”! We were happy that Alabama won, but our hearts were already won by you, our sweet little Roo.

This is ADORABLE! I want to make one for every baby I know!
What an awesome trick to use your machine! Super cute!
That is a nifty trick, I will be trying that soon.
You can do that with your regular machine? And here I have a fancy separate machine for chain stitching.
Those are super cute onesies. Lucky Roo!
